So. I find myself on a last minute trip to Paris with a few of my best gals *a story for another time*. As a wedding and couple’s photographer, it literally pained me imagining leaving the city of love without capturing real love wandering around in it. Cue to me working up the courage to ask a couple I had never met before if I could document their love in front of the Eiffel Tower and do a mini couples session. I showed them my portfolio and they said YES! Moments later, I got to see their authentic love unfold in the grand city of Paris. A dream come true!

Romantic Couples Session Overlooking the Eiffel Tower

When dreaming up the perfect location, I knew we needed somewhere that wouldn’t be crowded and had a clear view of the well known Parisian land mark. After lots of asking around *and googling*, we discovered this STUNNING overlook on Avenue de Camoens. The short, historic street made up of cobblestone bricks lead right up to a gorgeous and open cityscape of the Eiffel Tower. We found this spot to be extremely easy to move around which made giving prompts to create natural and authentic photos all the easier. As the session went on, they got caught up in their love and seemed to forget me and my camera were there at all. It felt as though Parisian poetry was unfolding all in real time.

Spontaneous Paris Photoshoot

While in Paris, I embraced the spontaneity of the city of love. Meeting strangers and getting a glimmer of their whimsical romance. Stolen looks, dancing and not caring who’s looking, gentle touches, and eyes absolutely full of adoration for one another.  Dreaming of the day I get to return to these bustling streets full of lovers and do it all over again.

HI, I'M MICHAELA!

making art of your everyday

I’m a Minnesota photographer drawn to the kind of moments you feel before you fully see them. I chase good light, quiet gestures, and the small details that make a day feel beautifully ordinary and monumental at the same time. My work leans film-forward and instinctive, shaped by texture, movement, and whatever honesty the moment gives me.

When I’m not shooting, you’ll usually find me lingering over a matcha latte, thumbing through a stack of dog-eared books, or wandering somewhere with my camera just in case the light does something interesting.
