Take the dreamiest January Savannah weather, tack on the sunlight coming through the live oaks and the stunning Georgian homes surrounding us, and then add in this couple being so exactly in their element… and we had ourselves a storybook engagement shoot. I knew from the moment I met this couple that the shoot of their love would be as one-of-a-kind as they come.

I had never been to Savannah before flying down for these dreamy engagement photos, and the setting TOTALLY made the scene what you see in these photos. One of the most important parts of preparing for these shoots is honing in on the little details that make up the big picture– the shoot location, you and your love’s wardrobe, the props we bring, the moments we create– and this shoot was no exception. After all, I am ALL about getting you comfort in front of the camera and capturing your love in a way that feels authentic to you. In this shoot, the couple and I decided to capture them painting and drawing in the park, as if they were the only two in the world, creating their own magic as they go.

I couldn’t be any happier with how these engagement photos turned out, from the green and yellow hues splattered on the paint palette to the live oaks giving us the most picture perfect shadows. Every little detail added up: the wicker picnic basket, the wildflowers that added a little pop of color to our earth-toned shoot, the sketch pads and paint brushes scattered all over their picnic basket. Ahhhh, just reliving it in this post makes me want to go back and shoot it again and again and again!
