“AHH I LOVE THEM!!! Woah, they are beautiful- We literally can’t stop looking at them! We had so much fun and greatly appreciate how comfortable you made us feel! Your energy and creativity made it so special for us. Honestly, it’s the highlight of our whole summer!”
-Camero, Bride
Some love stories feel like they’re straight out of a romance movie- the kind where the unexpected happens, and instead of running from it, the couples leans in. That’s exactly what happened during Camero and Charlie’s rainy Como Park engagement session.
Originally planned as a sunny summer session, the forecast showed a chance of rain. I gave them the option to reschedule, but with only partial rain predictions, they decided to move forward- embracing whatever the evening had in store.
And then? It happened. About ten minutes in, the sky opened up, and it started pouring.
We started the session as planned, just outside the Como Park Conservatory, moving through natural, unposed moments. As I prompted them through movement, they jokingly mentioned how romantic it would be if it actually rained. They spoke it into existence—because just minutes later, the light drizzle turned into a full downpour.
Rather than seeking cover, Camero and Charlie embraced the moment completely. They danced in the rain, laughing, soaked through, and totally present. It was the kind of Notebook-level romance you can’t script, the kind of raw, unscripted magic that makes a session unforgettable.
Once the rain slowed, they ran through a sprinkler just for the fun of it. The entire session became a reminder that the best moments aren’t always the ones we plan for—but the ones we allow ourselves to experience fully.
As a documentary-style engagement and wedding photographer, my goal is always to capture real emotions as they unfold—rain or shine. Some couples worry about weather, but here’s the truth: there’s no such thing as bad conditions, just different kinds of beauty.
Camero and Charlie’s Como Park engagement session is proof that when you let go of expectations and embrace the moment, the experience becomes a memory of it’s own.
